The Work
Australian culture has revolved around the beach since Captain Cook arrived boot-clad on the sandy shores of Botany Bay. Disgusted with sand in his single-buckled boots, but needing protection from the scorching sand, Cook sought and alternative. A cheap, rubber alternative. Influential on Australian lifestyle, the beach of course brings its own dress code– the humble double plugger. Dress them up, dress them down, it's a versatile and essential item of footwear. Whether purchased at the local supermarket, designer surf store or mysteriously discovered in the back of the Sandman, the Aussie thong represents the typical Australian outlook on life: social, comfortable and ever fashionable.
