Many cultures covet symbols and icons that they actively use to define themselves, their ideology or their aspirations. Often subverted or appropriated, these icons are rarely subjected to any detailed level of scrutiny or critique. In the creative spirit of turning a portrait upside-down, 3 Deep have disfigured one of Australia's most famous icons and asked the viewer to never take national or cultural axioms at face value.
